CHRUCH ORGANISES BLOOD DONATION EXERCISE (PAGE 20, MARCH 9, 2010)

THE Emmanuel Evangelical Presbyterian (EP) Church in Sunyani has organised a voluntary blood donation exercise on the premises of the church.
The exercise was to help replenish the stock at the Blood Bank of the Sunyani Regional Hospital.
The head of the Sunyani Regional Hospital Laboratory Technical Team, Mr K. Alhassan, commended members of the church for their punctuality and massive turnout.
Ultrasound screening exercise of the prostate and the urinary system of the male members of the church above 40 years was undertaken soon after the blood donation exercise by Dr Prince Rockson, a diagnostic radiographer, who is also a member of the church.
The exercise was followed by an educative talk on prostate cancer.
The Chairman of the Education Committee of the Church, which organised the programme, Mr Joy D.S. Amegbe, thanked God for making the exercise a success.
He commended the congregation and the health workers for their commitment and participation.
The church also donated four bales of used clothing to the Ghana Prisons Service in Sunyani.
The District Pastor, Rev. Lawrence J.K. Mesiotso, launched the programme and urged all Christians to be prepared to assist the needy at all times.
