The books, which comprises of science, mathematics and novels were in response to an appeal made by the Municipal Education Directorate to publishing and book selling companies for support.
Presenting the books at a brief ceremony at Berekum in the Brong Ahafo Region, Madam Asana Salifu, the Managing Director of Asanfat Agencies, said her outfit decided to respond to the appeal to help enhance education, especially in the study of mathematics and science in the Berekum Municiipality.
She noted that the books would serve as a source of motivation to the students and pupils to learn hard.
Madam Salifu expressed the hope that through the quiz competition, the study of mathematics and science would be demystified so as to erase the notion held by many school children that science and mathematics were difficult subjects.
Mr Patrick K. Jimpetey-Djan, the Berekum District Director of Education, who received the books, said they would be given out as prizes to winners of the quiz competition as part of activities to commemorate the 53rd Independence Parade for school children.
He thanked the company for the gesture and appealed to other publishing and book selling companies to assist the education directorate in its resolve to promote the study of science and mathematics in the municipality.
